As Jesus went from place to place in Judea and Galilee, teaching His disciples and crowds about the Kingdom of Heaven, His heart was full of compassion for the suffering of His people. Many were blind, lame, and leprous; but all were like lost sheep; for the religious leaders had crushed their spirit by imposing rules that were impossible to meet.
Often, as He was teaching, people that had little interest in what the priests said or thought, would come to listen. The religious leaders complained that He was associating with the wrong people. To them, He told not one, but three stories; each involved something that was lost; and then found. When the lost was found, there was joy. Likewise, when a lost soul repents, there is rejoicing by the angels in Heaven. [Story based on the Bible Reference: Luke 15:1-32]
