I was in the crowd of people at the house of Jarius, an elder in the local synagogue, when Jesus raised his daughter from the dead. I heard the wailing when she was dead and the joy when she was brought to life. I heard all of this; but I didn’t see anything, because I’m blind.
I thought if I could get the attention of Jesus, He would heal me and make my blindness go away. I shuffled along with the crowd as it began to move. Although, there was a lot of noise, because everybody seemed to be talking, I called out to Jesus, as loud as I could, “Son of David, mercy!” I wanted Jesus to know I believed He was the Messiah.
We came to another house. The crowd stopped moving; but I sensed that Jesus was going inside; so I continued to shuffle along in the direction I thought Jesus went. Suddenly, I heard His voice. He was speaking to me. He said, “Do you believe I’m able to restore your sight?” I didn’t need to think about it. Immediately, I said, “Yes, Lord, I do.” I felt His hand touch my eyes and He said, “According to your faith, let it be done.” Immediately, I could see.
