After the Passover Supper, eleven of us (disciples) followed Jesus to a place called Gethsemane. Judas wasn’t with us because he left the supper early; but, when we entered the grove, Jesus asked the others to wait while He took three of us to a place where He wanted to pray. Something was different. Always, Jesus spoke with authority; often answering questions people were thinking. Not this evening; it was frightening. He said, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow, to the point of death.” Then He asked us keep watch. We didn’t know what to watch for; but, it seemed like a long time and it was impossible to stay awake. Three times He came back and found us asleep. The third time He said, “Get up! Let’s get going! My betrayer is here.” [Story is based on Bible Reference – Matthew 26:36-46]
