WE ARE CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS
1 John 1:7
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”
I woke up and he was gone. September 12th was a difficult day. One form of grief ended and a new one began.
I walked in his backyard like we had done together so many times that year. This time I walked alone. I went behind the shed and lying on the grass was a flower. It was one of the flowers he made sure I didn’t weed by accident earlier that spring. He liked them and knew I would too. That summer we were both happy to see them bloom. He was right, they were incredible. Now I bent down and picked one up. In full bloom it had detached from its’ life source. Why so soon? I didn’t know. I turned it over. Its’ huge petals were pure white and glistened in the sunlight from the dew drops that covered it. Amazing. The deep red center seemed to spread like ink onto the base of the petals; pure white with the crimson blood in the center and sparkling in the sun. It was beautiful.
