Weary from their travel, the Israelites became impatient and complained against God, saying to Moses, “There’s no water and we can’t stand this awful food!” God sent poisonous snakes that bit and killed many of them. Some people came to Moses and admitted that they were wrong to insult God. They asked Moses to pray to God to make the snakes go away.
God told Moses to make a snake out of bronze and place it up on a pole. Any one that was bitten could look up at the snake and wouldn’t die. [Reflection based on the Bible Reference – Numbers 21:4-9]
