Evening was approaching and Rebekah got the water jar and headed for the well. She could see from a distance that there were a number of camels and a couple men standing near the well. As she approached the well, one of the men asked if he could have a drink of water from her jar.
She gave the man a drink and without thinking, she heard the words come out of her mouth, “I’ll water your camels, also.” There were ten camels, each capable of drinking thirty gallons of water; but, Rebekah didn’t think about the work. Something in her spirit compelled her to finish the task.
Rebekah was unaware that the man who asked her for a drink had prayed to God for guidance in finding a future wife for Isaac. Her action was confirmation that she was God’s choice for Isaac. [Reflection based on the Bible Reference – Genesis 24:1-46]
