The prophet Samuel warned the Israelites of the danger in putting their trust in a king rather than God. Nevertheless, they insisted on a king and as a result they were led into evil practices that ended in failure. The psalmist reminds people that the same danger still exists and that we should put our trust in God. [Reflection is based on the Bible Reference – Psalm 146]
