God told Moses what he already knew…that the life of the Israelites was harsh and they were mistreated by the Egyptian authorities. God went on to say that He heard the cries of the Israelites for help; and then he said to Moses, “Go! I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”
“Who am I that I should go to the Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” Moses said. “I’m not a good speaker, please send someone else,” Moses continued. God was displeased with the excuses and unwillingness expressed by Moses; but, He provided Aaron, the brother of Moses, to be a spokesperson for Moses.
