Again, without Job’s knowledge, he is the subject of discussion between God and Satan. God is pleased with Job, in spite of the calamity that is introduced into his life. Satan, not willing to concede, said: “If his body is affected, he will turn against you.” God granted permission for Satan to inflict pain; but his life was to be spared.
