After receiving money in exchange for Joseph, his brothers dipped Joseph’s robe into the blood of a goat. When they deceived their father, saying that they found the coat, he assumed Joseph had been devoured by a wild animal.
Meanwhile, Joseph was sold as a slave by the caravan of traders, to the Captain of the King’s Royal Guard. While serving his master, Joseph was blessed by God.
