“Esau, we need to talk,” said Isaac. “Your grandfather, Abraham, was a man of great faith. By faith he came to this land; but remained obedient to the will of God. When it was time for me to take a wife, he sent his head servant back to his family, under the direction of God, and your mother was God’s choice. When it is time for you to take a wife, let God choose for you.”
This conversation did not happen. With no counsel from Isaac and without seeking the will of God, Esau chose a bride from the Hittites. This became a source of grief for Isaac and Rebekah. [Reflection based on the Bible Reference – Genesis 26:34-35]
