The distance from Nazareth to Bethlehem was nearly a hundred miles. Riding on a donkey, with Joseph leading up hills and down along a winding trail with ruts and bumps, Bethlehem couldn’t come too soon for Mary, who was nine months pregnant. That Jesus would be born in Bethlehem, was God’s will; and he provided the necessary resources for His will to be accomplished.
