Jesus told us that when we share our love for Him and His love for everybody, it will not always be received favorably. However, He is able to bring good out of events that are intended to silence this message. One of our missionaries has experienced this ability for God to bring good out of a bad situation. The missionary travelled to a village that had not heard of Jesus. After sharing the love of Jesus with them, a number of people became believers. This, of course, was an encouragement to the missionary. On the way home the missionary was met by a group opposed to the Good News of Jesus. They beat the missionary so badly that he passed out. Thinking he was dead, the group left him beside the road. After some time, a passerby spotted him and took him to the hospital. The doctor informed him that he suffered six fractured ribs. During the month of recovery, the missionary felt led to pray for the leader of the group that had attacked him. One day after his recovery, the missionary took a new Bible to the village where the group lived. He met with the leader of the group and said, “I came here to forgive you. Jesus loves you and so do I.” The man began to cry and said, “I lost my wife. She committed suicide right after I attacked you; and I’ve lost my job. I feel like your God is punishing me.” The missionary shared God’s love and gave him the Bible. The man became a believer and invited the missionary to start a church in his house. The church is growing and people are accepting Jesus as believers.
