Although the Israelites were living in the wilderness as a consequence of their choice to avoid taking possession of the “Promised Land” (Canaan), God continued to love them and provide for their needs.
The Israelites sent a messenger to the King of the Amorites, requesting permission to pass through their territory, promising to stay out of the fields and vineyards and avoid drawing water from the wells. King Sihon responded by assembling his army and attacking the Israelites. God defeated the Amorite army and the Israelites were able to settle in the villages of the Amorites.
During our lives we experience wilderness circumstances. God loves us and is willing to provide for our needs.
[Bible: Numbers 21:21-26]
