“Oh, Achan, Why?”

November 17, 2016 By Roy Pennycoff Leave a Comment

“Achan. What are you doing?” his wife asked.  “These are a few souvenirs I picked up from our battle at Jericho”, Achan replied.  “Are you sure you should be doing this?  Didn’t Joshua say that God said nothing was to be taken?”  “I’m putting these things under the floor of the tent, for safe-keeping.”  Nobody… Read More »

November 16, 2016 By Roy Pennycoff Leave a Comment

If Joshua would be faithful in meditating on God’s Word continually and choose to obey God’s instructions, He would enable Joshua to prosper and succeed in leading His people. Moses – Defended by God

November 10, 2016 By Roy Pennycoff Leave a Comment

God saw that Moses was a humble man as he performed his duties of leading the Israelites from Egypt through the wanderings in the wilderness.  Miriam and Aaron (the sister and brother of Moses) were critical of Moses’ choice of a wife.  The criticism of their brother extended to the special relationship between God and… Read More »

Moses – Loving God and Others

November 9, 2016 By Roy Pennycoff Leave a Comment

On Mount Sinai God provided Moses with what is often called the “Ten Commandments”.  The first four state how to love God.  The last six state how to love others.  A right relationship with God and others results in a joy that sometimes is the opposite of our circumstances.  [Bible: Exodus 20:1-17]
