Isolated from people, John the Baptist was left alone with his thoughts. He didn’t regret his role in being the forerunner for Jesus, the Messiah. He did, however, miss the freedom of preaching repentance to anybody that would listen. One time he sent a question to Jesus by a couple of his disciples. In his heart he knew the answer to the question; but he wanted a personal word from the Messiah. It would help pass the lonely time in his dungeon cell and it would reassure him for whatever lie ahead in his future. [Reflection is based on the Bible Reference – Matthew 11:2-6]
