In the book of Ruth, Boaz redeemed the property of Naomi, whose husband was deceased. For Naomi, her property was redeemed and it provided an opportunity for her have a new life. The redemption not only involved redemption of the land, but also marriage of the Redeemer, Boaz, to her daughter-in-law, Ruth. Naomi’s sadness for the loss of a husband and two sons turned to gladness for the redemption. Naomi’s legacy continues because she became the great grandmother of King David.
