King Zedekiah rejected God, rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar who put him on the throne in Judah as a puppet king, and chose not to follow the God-given counsel from Jeremiah. The author of the book of Chronicles referred to Zedekiah as “stiff-necked”; a term that Moses had used in describing the Pharaoh of Egypt prior to the Exodus. [Reflection is based on the Bible Reference – 2 Chronicles 36:11-14]
