At a meeting between King Ahab of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah, Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, “Ramoth Gilead belongs to us and we have done nothing to take it back from the king of Aram [Syria]. Will you go with me to fight against Ramoth Gilead? “I will, said Jehoshaphat; but first we must seek the counsel of the Lord.”
After a number of prophets had prophesied that victory would be achieved, Jehoshaphat asked, “Is that it? Are there no other prophets? Ahab said, “There is one more. His name is Micaiah, but I hate him. He never has anything good to say to me.”
Micaiah was called and he prophesied, “I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd, and the Lord said,” ‘These people have no master. Let each one go home in peace.’” [Reflection based on the Bible Reference – 1 Kings 22:2-17]
