Joseph’s brothers found themselves in trouble with the Egyptian authorities (not knowing that the Governor was their brother, Joseph). Joseph wasn’t seeking revenge; but assurance of the safety of his brother, Benjamin, and the health of his father, Jacob. Their time in prison provided an opportunity for them to reflect on their past conduct and some of them believed God was punishing them for their actions, including their treatment of their brother, Joseph.
